We follow a small off-road path that leads us to a bamboo
forest, where we can observe the various types and their
significance to Balinese culture and religion. After this,
we come upon an ancient temple from the 10th century, which
is highly revered by Balinese pilgrims.
We are then invited to the family compound of Ketut in the
traditional village of Penempahan, where we can learn about
feng shui in Balinese culture and the meaning behind the
construction and placement of traditional Balinese
dwellings.
Our journey continues to the UNESCO World Heritage site of
Tampaksiring, where we explore the many facets of rice
farming in a vibrant green landscape. Finally, we cruise
through beautiful small traditional villages and paddy
fields, completing our tour of this incredible region.
