Ready to take the plunge?
There is a reason why we are calling this adventure the “Infinite waters trek”
You very quickly realize that you have lost count of all the water sources and waterfalls being shared to you on this unique and truly magical adventure.
Here in Bali we are blessed with a variety of natural landscapes in which we can immerse ourselves. Especially inland, where the terrain transforms from flat flood lands and fields to alpine highlands and rugged volcanoes.
Your day begins with a pick up from your preferred location.
We head up north to the hilltops of Bali, in the Bedugul region, an area well known for its cooler climate, natural beauty, peaceful views of the lake and home to one of the island’s most iconic temples, Pura Ulun Danu. Travel time to our destination is around 1-1½ hours.
We arrive for a short stop at our Mountain cottage, to have breakfast. We will enjoy some fresh fruits and locally made food, whilst from the terrace, on one side you overlook the jungle, and from the other you can see on the horizon of Bali’s northern coast. A real spectacle for your eyes, setting up the tone for more to come.
This is our last toilet stop closer to the trailhead. After this, all calls of nature will be either using a squat toilet or in the jungle.
Any belongings that you don’t need on the trek you can leave in the house, where it’s kept safe and dry, so you can get ready to get wet!
Once at the trailhead, we’ll have a safety-talk & get ready for an adventurous hike to totally out of the ordinary places, to discover natural and unsoiled spots and hidden waterfalls. Trekking poles will be made available to anyone who is in need.
We start the trek with a Balinese ritual at the nearby temple and then we set off for the adventure.
We begin our journey through the sawah - rice fields with their hundred shades of green.Northern region of Bali is called Singaraja, which means "The Lion King". Although actual lions are not roaming these fields, the dramatic coastline with its volcanic black sand beaches could easily be the backdrop of any movie.
From your first step to the last, an abundance of cool water trickles across the abundant plantations, cascading down from the rocky mountains and bubbling up through the ground as fresh spring water.
Take a ritualistic bath in a sacred confluence and have an unforgettable time flowing down the natural water slide of a cooling river flow
We will walk all the way down and up and enjoy the views, sounds and experience that each part of the trek has to offer. We admire nature, see a countless amount of butterflies, local plants and trees.
During the trek we will have plenty of stops to swim and shower in the waterfalls.
Refreshments will be served during the trek
We finish off this fantastic day of exploring by returning to the cottage, changing into our dry clothes and together with our trek companions, savor a beautifully prepared meal while enjoying some more amazing views overlooking the jungle!
You will be served a delicious meal made with fresh ingredients prepared by our staff, many from our own gardens. The reason is that we want to serve our guests not only the tastiest food, but also food that is healthy and goes hand in hand to support nature.
Giri Putri is a perfect place to relax, with views overlooking the jungle; the ocean at the horizon, crashing onto the shore of northern Bali. We will do our best to return you to your hotel or place of residence sometime between 4 and 5 pm.
This journey is undertaken by foot in areas where there is normally no means of transport available. Brisk trekking through various types of moderate to difficult terrain.Requires an average fitness level.

Pack lightly and smartly. Items you don’t want to carry, can be safely left in Giri Putri Mountain cottage
Correct footwear is a must. Wear shoes that can support your feet under uneven terrain and which will help sustain a firm grasp on slippery rocks. Do not wear flip flops or sandals without straps.
Normal fitness and outdoor clothing. Wear a t- shirt that covers the shoulders. The reason is that we will enter temples and other sacred areas.
In the jungle you need to have either long trousers or socks that are covering the full length of your legs, as there are nettles that can give you an itchy sting.
You might consider packing a hat, mozzie repellent, a waterproof timepiece, a light, water resistant jacket, a small towel and bathing suit, sunglasses and a small, waterproof goody bag for wet clothes.
When the afternoon mountain chill sets in after hours spent by cascading waterfalls, it is a really good feeling to have a fresh set of warm clothes.
